Coach Chas · Leadership from the inside out

Chas Higgins

Lead Yourself First.

I help emerging leaders, growing teams, and veterans become high-performing by teaching them to lead themselves before they lead others. Not fads or hacks — self-awareness and values.

Who is Chas Higgins

The leader behind "lead yourself first"

Chas Higgins spent years watching talented people get promoted into leadership and quietly fall apart — not because they lacked drive, but because no one taught them the first skill that makes every other one work: how to lead themselves.

You can't be an effective leader in your organization if you can't be an effective leader in your own life.

High performance without self-knowledge isn't success — it's just burnout with better numbers. Today, through Elevare Global and FrameShaping, Chas helps emerging leaders, growing teams, executives, and veterans stepping into civilian careers grow from the inside out — grounded in self-awareness and values.

It's the same principle he lives every day across his F5: Faith, Family, Friendships, Fitness, and Flexibility. Know yourself to grow yourself. Everything else follows.

What I stand for

Mission

To teach emerging leaders and their teams to lead themselves first — building high performance from the inside out, through self-awareness and values instead of fads or hacks.

Vision

A world where leadership grows the human, not just the numbers — where people are led well, sustain themselves, and never fall apart quietly in a role no one prepared them for.

Adapt & grow

1. Lead Yourself First

You grow a team by teaching every leader to lead themselves — not by fixing your people.

2. Self-Knowledge Over Hustle

High performance without self-knowledge is just burnout with better numbers.

3. Character Beats Title

Your title doesn't make you a leader — how you lead yourself when no one's watching does.

4. Lead the Humans, Not the Numbers

Grow the team by growing each leader. Never chase performance while ignoring the people.

Advocacy · Suicide Prevention

You matter. Your life matters.

Leading yourself first isn't only about performance. Some seasons, it's about staying in the fight for your own life — and helping the people around you stay in theirs.

My "why" started the day the uniform came off. After years of military service, I walked into civilian life and lost the one thing I never expected to have to search for — purpose. The mission was gone. The structure was gone. The brotherhood was gone. And I was carrying the post-traumatic stress (PTS) that service leaves behind.

The transition was harder than anything I'd trained for, and for a while I carried it in silence — because that's what we're taught to do. But I'm still here. And I've made it my mission to make sure others — especially veterans and leaders who carry the weight quietly — know they are not alone, that asking for help is strength and not weakness, and that there is purpose and life on the other side of the hardest days.

That's why I advocate for suicide prevention. And it's why lead yourself first will always mean your life first.
